Along with the Marketing & Public Relations Manager, the Customer Relations Specialist is responsible for the Association's customer service, business development and loyalty program. Responsible for the administration of the Association's customer survey and mystery shopping program along with financial literacy outreach initiatives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Along with Marketing &Public Relations Manager and third party consultant, design, develop, plan, and implement a successful customer service, mystery shopping and business development  programs.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues in the Human Resources and Marketing Departments to coordinate the Association's internal culture building program, which includes new employee onboarding, quarterly employee celebrations, employee surveys, and employee service standards promotions and evaluations.
  • Visit branches and departments regularly to maintain a high level of involvement with team leads and employees and monitor the effectiveness of the culture building. Provide ongoing support and tools and maintain frequent communication with participants. Audit and analyze current program in order to improve and evolve the success of initiatives.
  • Conduct quarterly branch visits to audit facilities based on marketing and industry compliance standards.
  • Develop, implement, collect and analyze customer surveys. Make recommendations for improvement and prepare ongoing recaps of results for management. Prepare correspondence for customer survey responses and other customer correspondence as requested.
  • Design, develop, plan, and implement successful financial literacy outreach programs, including youth education initiatives.
  • Prepare recurring reports and analysis of customer services, sales and loyalty.
  • Represent the association at community events and track volunteer and community giving for the Association using the Kadince database system.
  • Provide general administrative support for the Department. Assist with the department's budget and project tracking efforts; check requests; customer and prospect mailings; vendor management; supply management; and customer data gathering support.
  • Assist and support the Marketing Department with various marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Promote Marketing and Association initiatives, policies and programs in an outgoing and enthusiastic manner. Maintain an active role in in projects that involve customer service, sales and loyalty.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lead by example and project a professional, business-like image.
  • Have excellent public and customer relations skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, determine their needs, maintain their confidence and goodwill, and establish and maintain effective relationships. 
  • Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule frequently outside of normal business hours.
  • Maintain knowledge of Association products and services, profit drivers, and business goals.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have organizational skills and composure at all times, even in under pressure situations. Requires flexibility and adaptability to prioritize a fluctuating workload in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Exercise customer confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
  • Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate and coordinate group projects and events.
  • Requires proficiency in basic computer programs including Microsoft Office and Adobe with the ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Association Policies and Federal Regulations including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Privacy, Rights to Financial Privacy, Community Reinvestment Act, Truth In Savings and The Security Program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A. degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience and training is preferred
  • At least two years' experience in the financial industry or a related field is preferred
  • Previous marketing experience preferred.
  • Must be bondable.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS &  WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:

Duties are performed in usual office conditions. Ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computer, standard keyboard, 10-key calculator and work a standard shift with repetitive wrist and hand movements. Ability to talk and hear. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally lift, move or carry items up to 15 lbs. Ability to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions. Requires manual dexterity and handling ability. Use hands and arms to finger, handle, grab and reach. Specific vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve eye strain due to constant use of computer screens. Occasional walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and bending. Ability to be mobile office-wide for various business needs.
